Summer Internship - Futuring Design
Project Timeline: 9 weeks
Mentor: Ruth Thomas
Type: Individual
Background: Milk is a ubiquitous item used across all kitchens in India. It forms an essential part of our diet and India is the world's largest milk producer. Carafewerk aimed to develop a product that would bridge an existing gap in the way people use milk and milk byproducts regularly. This included boiling it, as well as making ghee, butter, curd, etc. The aim was to see if there was a possibiltiy to a product intervention in the process.
My internship was a research-intensive one where I worked on understanding milk and its usage by first conducting secondary research and then interviewing people from various parts of India. This was a live project and what the team was looking for - was a plausible area where further work could be carried out. The gap identified was in the process of making ghee and accordingly a solution was designed.
Keywords: kitchen appliance redesign, market research, user surveys, interviews, journey maps.
Tools Used: Rhino 6.0, Keyshot 9.0, Figma, Photoshop.
